CTHC 7-7? Ballinkillen 0-2

There were no real surprises in this game, played in ideal conditions on a perfect surface at the Centre of Excellence in Fenagh. Carlow Town were the superior force with Kevin Murphy standing well ahead of most of the other players on the pitch. Ballinkillen's Louis Brennan fought hard to counter the strength of the opposition, but it was difficult to stem the tide. The first half finished 4-4 to Carlow Town and 0-1 to Ballinkillen, Carlow Town scores coming from Kevin Murphy, Shane Murphy and Adam Nolan, Ballinkillen's solitary, late score coming from the tireless work of Louis Brennan at mid-field.

Carlow Town resumed where they had left off after the half-time break, registering a further 3-3? including a classy score from Daniel Brennan towards the end of the game.

Best for Carlow Town were Kevin Murphy, Shane Murphy, Adam Nolan, Dwena Bradley and Orlaith Murphy. Special credit has to go to Ballinkillen's Donal Quirke who stepped up to the challenge and put in a fine display of goalkeeping on what would have been tough day out for any keeper. Eric English, Eamonn Normanly, Craig Bermingham and Adam Tobin also worked hard for Ballinkillen.
