U-12 Hurling League Grp 2 Rnd 6: Burren Rangers (7-8) v Ballinkillen (2-5)

Ballinkillen started this game playing into a strong breeze, on an otherwise fine evening for hurling.
The first score came on the 5th minute with a goal for Burren Rangers' Sean Kinsella. The home team goaled again twice from Conor Dowling and Sean Kinsella before Ballinkillen got off the mark with a point from Cian Delaney in the 11th minute. Louis Brennan goaled for Ballinkillen, but the first half was dominated by Burren Rangers, making full use of the wind advantage to go in 5-2 to 1-1 up at half time with some further fine scores from Sean Kinsella (0-1) and Andrew Farrell (2-1).

Padraig Nolan took over goalkeeping duties in the second half and made some very brave saves for Ballinkillen, before going off injured following another heroic attemp to hold back the tide. Ballinkillen battled hard with brave displays from Louis Brennan, Craig Bermingham and Jack Ryan, but had no answer on the day to the strong running and determination of this Burren Rangers side. Ballinkillen managed 1-4 in the second half (Eric English 1-2, Louis Brennan, Cian Delaney 0-1). Burren Rangers continued their dominance aginst the breeze to register a further 2-6 (James Connolly 0-1, Lochlainn McGrath 1-3, Sean Kinsella 1-0, Conor Dowling 0-2).
