U-12 Hurling League Grp 2 Rnd 9: Ballinkillen (6-5) v Kildavin-Clonegal (3-0)

Tuesday 9th July 2013 6:30pm

Ballinkillen took on a depleted Kildavin-Clonegal side in this game, played at 28 degrees C on a sunny Tuesday evening in McDonald  Park.

Padraig "The Sniper" Nolan goaled for the home side within the first minute of the game. Eamonn Normanly replied with a goal for the visitors on 3 minutes. This was followed by a point for Eric English and a goal for Cian "The Delivery Man" Delaney before Kildavin-Clonegal struck the net for their second goal. Padraig Nolan finished the half with another goal for the home side to leave the half-time score at 3-1 to 2-0.

Eric English scored two further points in the first 2 minutes of the second half, one from a placed ball. Kildavin-Clonegal goaled again in the fifth minute. After that, Ballinkillen dominated to the end, with points from Padraig Nolan and Eric English and three more goals in succession from Pat Hickey, Eric English and Cian Delaney.

Kildavin-Clonegal gave an exhibition of link-up play and passing during this game.

Eamonn Normanly and Donal Quirke worked hard and ran hard throughout the game, a major achievement in the conditions.
