This round 2 game in the U-12 league was played in difficult conditions in Ballinkillen on Saturday 13th April.
Despite the rain and wind, both teams put on a fine display with strong individual performances throughout the field. Muinebheag went in 2 points ahead at the break, having outscored Ballinkillen 2-1 to 1-2.

The second half was hard fought with Ballinkillen making full use of the wind advantage to launch the sliotar into their forwards at every opportunity. Eoin Whelan (1-2) and and Louis Brennan (1-0) made hay and, but for Muinebheag's strong defence and outstanding goalkeeper, there could have been more scores for the home team.

A late goal for Muinebheag put them right back in contention up to the final whistle. These teams were very evenly matched throughout.

Best for Muinebheag were Keelan Guidera, Richie Whelan and Jake Doyle.

Ballinkillen put in a much improved performance compared to their first day out. Most improved was Aaron Lennon-Corcoran who did great work at midfield. Jack Treacy was outstanding again and scored 1-3 (1-1 frees, 1 '65). In defence Patrick Kavanagh, Colin Byrne, Jack McLoughlin and Pat Hickey impressed.

Ballinkillen Team:
Colin Byrne, Louis Brennan (1-0), Eoghan Chada, Cian Delaney, Eric English, Mark Foley, Pat Hickey, Patrick Kavanagh, Aaron Lennon Corcoran, Jack McLoughlin, David Murphy, Donnacha Murphy, Padraig Nolan, Eamonn Normanly, Thomas O'Donoghue, Donal Quirke, Jack Ryan (Capt.), Sean Smithers, Adam Tobin, Conor Tracey, Jack Treacy (1-3), Eoin Whelan (1-2).
