Ballinkillen 1-06  Naomh Eoin 2-03

The second round of the under 14 hurling championship saw the meeting of Ballinkillen and Naomh Eoin. Ballinkillen opened the scoring with a point from Cormax Lomax and a free from Ciaran Dowling. Mark Foley pushed Ballinkillen futher ahead with a goal . Naomh Eoin opened their scoring with a Shiam Harmon free before Ballinkillen added further points from Sean Cummins and Padraig Hynes. The first half ended with frees from Ballinkillen's Ciaran Dowling and Naomh Eoin's Shiam Harmon, leaving the half time score Ballinkillen 1-5 to Naomh Eoin's 2 points.


Naomh Eoin started the second half the stronger with a goal from James Smithers. A short time later Smithers added a second goal to leave the sides level. The second half was tight and hard fought. Padraig Hynes pointed to put Ballinkillen ahead but Naomh Eoin had the last say with a pointed free from Shiam Harmon. Best for Ballinkillen were Padraig Hynes, Kyle Harenburg and Eoin Kavanagh. The stand-out players for Naomh Eoin were James Smithers and Shiam Harmon.
